Caitlin De Kock

Caitlin has recently completed her Bachelor of Education Magna Cum Laude in Foundation Phase Teaching. She is a relational teacher who acknowledges the crucial link between academic performance and physical, emotional and social wellbeing of her learners.

Caitlin acknowledges the individuality of each learner. She incorporates this in her teaching by assisting learners in identifying their various talents and encouraging them therein, as well as adopting various teaching and learning pedagogies to suit all learning styles. She desires for her classroom to be a safe space where her learners are able to explore and where an excitement for the learning process exists. She also believes that no child should be left behind and is committed to walking alongside each learner who is brought into her classroom, and desires to create many opportunities for them to actively participate in their learning. She has been a learnership and locum teacher over the duration of her studies which has contributed to her love for young learners and their education, as well as an awareness of acting in loco parentis.
